It's also features the the seigaiha pattern (waves made from concentric circles) that symbolise quiet strength and good fortune.

The Kikko pattern is inspired by the hexagonal shape of tortoise shells and it represents longevity.

Lastly, it is also adorned with the shibori dot pattern.  It is one of the most recognisable and labor-intensive forms of shibori, often requiring the meticulous binding of thousands of tiny, individual sections of cloth to create a detailed, textured effect.
