Showa Era - 1960s-1970s - Silk - Bridal Morning Jacket
THE MEANING
Michiyuki means journey - the garment worn when setting out into something new. The cloud (kumo) pattern woven through the silk represents change, transition and the beginning of a new phase. Worn on a wedding morning, it carries both meanings at once.
THE PATTERN
Champagne and warm caramel silk with a tonal woven cloud pattern - visible in certain light, subtle in others. The lining is a soft blush pink silk. Together they are the colours of a wedding morning.
