Showa Era - 1960s-1970s - Silk - Wedding Morning Jacket
THE MEANING
Michiyuki means journey - the garment worn when setting out into something new. Hidden within the detailing are delicate sakura - cherry blossom - which represent new beginnings and the beauty of a moment that will not last forever. Together they make this the most meaningful piece in the collection for a bride.

- Reversed for a different look entirely
GIFTING
The sakura means new beginnings. The michiyuki means journey. This is the piece for a wedding morning - worn while getting ready, seen in every photograph, kept for a lifetime. The double-breasted buttons make it easy to slip off after hair and makeup without disturbing anything. We can include a handwritten card explaining the symbolism of the sakura and the meaning of the michiyuki. Email us at hello@himoandkimo.com at the time of order.
