Showa Era - Heavy Silk - Excellent Condition
THE MEANING
Red (aka) is one of the most powerful colours in Japanese culture - associated with vitality, protection and good fortune. Worn at celebrations, weddings and milestone occasions.
THE PATTERN
The exterior is a deep crimson silk with a tonal woven pattern running through it - visible only when the light catches it, adding depth and texture to what reads at first as a solid colour. The lining is pale pink and cream - a soft, unexpected contrast to the richness of the exterior.
