Showa Era - Vintage - Two Ways to Wear
THE MEANING
Momiji — maple leaf — represents the Japanese concept of mono no aware: the bittersweet appreciation of things that do not last. The autumn leaf at its most vivid just before it falls. A gift for someone embracing change or moving into a new phase of life.
THE PATTERN
Black ground with a dense all-over momiji pattern in dusty rose pink and gold. The leaves appear to be woven or jacquard-style rather than printed — the texture catches the light differently from each angle, giving the fabric real depth. Up close, individual leaves in varying tones of pink and gold overlap across the entire surface.
