THE MEANING

Michiyuki means journey - the coat worn when setting out into something new. The koshi (grid) pattern represents balance and structure. The scattered circular motifs (en) represent harmony and completeness. A gift for a wedding, a significant birthday or anyone beginning a new chapter.

THE PATTERN

Burnt orange and red silk with a fine mustard grid and scattered gold circular motifs. Turn it inside out and a completely different garment appears - cream silk with a warm printed pattern in rust and orange. Two michiyuki in one piece.

One size. Fits Australian sizes 6-14. The michiyuki has more structure than a haori - it has a defined shape when buttoned. Worn open it drapes freely.
